SUMMARY

Raven Aerostar is looking for a systems engineer with a multi-disciplinary approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, reliability, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and analysis across multiple programs. Raven Aerostar designs, builds, and operates data-fusion based radar and perception systems, unique, cutting edge high-altitude lighter-than-air vehicles, and fully integrated solutions designed for the aerospace and defense markets. Our customers include commercial entities, NASA, and the Department of Defense.  Our mission is to Connect, Protect, and Save Lives.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support the systems engineering and program manangement teams for a complex system of systems design
  • Lead and support working groups on technical topics as needed
  • Develop and maintain configuration management of requirements
  • Develop and maintain System Engineering Plans (SEPs), Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and other engineering documentation
  • Participate in requirements development and configuration baseline documentation
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Perform market surveys by gathering vendor data to populate product profiles, determining performance fit based on functional profiles, and determining risk ranking based on various criteria.
  • Serve as liaison for engineering efforts between internal teams and external customers.
  • Review technical data to assure materials and product performance are compliant to internal and external standards.
  • Verify materials function properly and interact according to design, when integrated into a single, complete system.
  • Responsible to keep projects on plan timeline and deliverables, both from internal and customer schedule perspectives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3-5 years of systems engineering, project engineering, or cross-functional technical experience 
  • Formal requirements tracking or requirements database experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field
  • Solid cross-functional systems understanding; ability to grasp complicated concepts quickly
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Experience with and strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques is preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff
  • Travel may be necessary
  • US Citizenship required

 

Desired:

  • Radar, multi-sensor perception, or aviation background 
  • 3-5 years DoD acquisition expereince or military service in a technical field
  • Strong background in reliability, availability, and maintainability
  • Degree or certificate in System Engineering
