Summary

As an Agronomic Task Automation Engineer in the Autonomous Vehicles team, you will play a fundamental role in the definition and design of job performance perception and control systems to support the development of highly automated and autonomous agronomic tasks.You will work closely also with the Planning and Control engineers, to properly understand their needs and requirements and design the system and algorithms accordingly.  You will also work closely with the other internal groups inside the Autonomous Vehicle, Model Based Controls, Innovation, Vehicle Electronics, Digital and ICT teams, to ensure that algorithms are architected, developed and deployed in an efficient and consistent manner according to the final applications.

 

Essential Functions

  • Design, develop, and evaluate software from concept through production stage, and make modifications as needed.
  • Research, write, develop, test, and evaluate software programs.
  • Work with teams to facilitate deployment related to software programs.
  • Determine purpose, application, and feasibility of new or enhancement of existing software.
  • Create and update documentation for designs, and all phases of the project.
  • Work with external customers to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Coordinate engineering efforts and provide engineering assistance to internal teams or external customers.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications.

 

Qualifications

  • Experienced engineer with 5+ years of career experience, with Bachelor's degree.  3+ years experience with Master's degree.  1+ years experience with PHD.   Or equivalent combination of education and experience. with 1+ years of experience – Or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Experienced developing software within a structured process (creating requirements, developing software and verifying the software) for embedded electronic control units.
  • 5+ years of software development experience in C/C++
  • 5+ years of software development experience in Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow
  • Experience with test, verification, and validation of software algorithms
  • Experience with agricultural equipment and/or machines
  • Strong experience with source control tools such as Git, SVN or similar
  • Basic knowledge of model-based methodology for software development (including MIL and SIL)
  • Knowledge of Python and Comfortable working within Linux OS
  • Knowledge of safety regulations like ISO 25119/26262
  • Experience in HIL equipment such as DSPACE or National Instruments
  • Experience writing software utilizing protocols such as CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet
  • Experience with tools like CANalayzer, CANape, CANoe, INCA, Control Desk or similar
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: BSP/Board Support Package, RTOS, Bootloader, Power Management, Linux, Microcontrollers
  • Hands-on experience in electronics laboratory, e.g. multimeter, oscilloscope
  • Proficiency with a productivity software including use of Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Travel may be necessary, based on position.
