Summary Develop innovative solutions to problems using AI techniques such as Machine Learning and Deep Learning to drive Artificial Intelligence (AI) advancements in new product development and provide continual refinement of existing products once they are fielded.

Essential Functions

Generate models and software systems derived from various Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) techniques to drive innovation, improve product performance and usability.
Collaborate with agronomists, data scientists, machine learning engineers and software engineers to ensure operational readiness of ML models.
Conduct manual and automatic testing of the models and software systems and prepare applications for field and customer installation.
Work with internal teams and external sources to obtain and communicate data pertinent to the assigned project.
Optimize ML workflows and systems for efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
Build and maintain tools for automating model training, performance monitoring, testing, and validation.
Develop and integrate APIs to facilitate model access and usage of ML models. Stay up to date with the latest advancements and trends in machine learning operations and recommend best practices.
Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations on projects.
Participate in department improvement activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or any other related field.
5+ years of experience building commercial solutions (or 3+ years with MSc Degree, or 1+ year with PhD Degree).
Demonstrated capabilities using supervised Machine Learning and/or unsupervised deep learning techniques to build working software to solve problems.
Experience in modern Python programming and ML frameworks (Tensorflow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Team player who is self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.

Nice to have

Experience in automating ML pipelines with tools like ML flow, Kubeflow, Airflow, etc.
Experience in ML for imaging / computer vision.
Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for ML workloads.
Experience working with code versioning tools and CI/CD workflows.
Experience in modern C++ programming (C++11 and/or later versions).
Experience in deploying models on GPUs.
Familiarity with Linux OS.
