The Principal Autonomous Vehicle Engineer will innovate and integrate new perception technologies to perceive, deduce and predict the environment around autonomous agricultural machines to enhance the operational safety and provide continual refinement of existing perception products once they are fielded.


  • Design, develop and evolve perception technology stack including but not limited to scalable machine learning pipelines, optimized edge-based software deployment, sensor fusion.
  • Innovate on supervised and/or unsupervised machine learning techniques to build working software to solve problems
  • Build automated perception test environments and simulation software to drive enhanced system safety validation.
  • Write, develop, evaluate and document new and modified software programs using test driven development (TDD) methodologies.



  • Must have a MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science or in field related to specific position
  • 7 or more years of relevant academic/industry experience (preferably 5+ in vehicle autonomy)
  • Competency in C++ and/or Python
  • Competency in Tensor Flow/Tensor RT and/or PyTorch
  • Demonstrated capabilities using supervised and/or unsupervised machine learning techniques to build and deploy production integrated perception system
  • Experience deploying mission-critical software applications on edge embedded devices
  • Team player who is self-motivated, and has ability to work well within a Scrum team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
  • Demonstrates the Dimensions of Competition and Raven Team Member Values in their daily actions.
