Raven Applied Technology is growing and we are seeking a design engineer with experience in cellular and RF integration. With the continued need for radio technology, there will be a strong preference for someone who has taken a product through FCC intentional radiator certification and carrier certification (Verizon).


Essential Functions

  • Focus on selecting the appropriate radio technologies, modules, and antennas to support creating a wireless solution for these platforms.
  • Beyond selection, there’d be an expectation for defining and performing functional tests around those devices, working with third party labs to ensure compatibility with device co-location and noise, and possibly supporting FCC/other agency intentional radiator compliance testing and carrier certifications with cellular providers.
  • General skills to support the role would include familiarity with RF test equipment, scripting languages (Python, bash, etc.), experience with Linux, and some general knowledge of networking and cellular network topology.
  • Focus on radios and tying them into our Linux devices and on machine/in field networks in a way that maximizes reliable connections.


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, in field related to specific position.
  • General Linux knowledge would be a plus. 
  • c/c++ and python preferred.
