As a Field Systems Specialist, you'll provide support and service for customers and systems in the field within the Southern California and Arizona.


  • Work with internal teams to provide input and direction on requirements, function, and fit of new/enhanced products into entire product line.
  • Maintain close connection to the product market(s) to provide valuable input in the new product development process.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications.
  • Interact with service, sales, engineering, and other Raven departments to achieve market/territory, division, and corporate goals.
  • Provide significant assistance in the front end research related to new product development and introduction.
  • Work with Beta site and Engineering to work through issues.
  • Kit Development both on OEM/Aftermarket. Cable/wiring schematic design. Building and Developing kits for predetermined machines.
  • Serve as liaison for engineering efforts between internal teams and external customers, specifically beta sites and OEM accounts.
  • Identify new product and product enhancement opportunities.
  • Develop project and product specifications. Ensure project and product performance meets customer standards and requirements.
  • Verify materials function properly and interact according to design, when integrated into a single complete system.
  • Provide input for system user manuals.
  • Implement specific system training to beta customers and internal staff as needed to keep everyone current on new products/software.
  • May be asked to research system or machine requirements for new developments.


  • Associates degree in engineering technology or precision agriculture required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in service of technical products or services preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, understand and develop wiring schematics.
  • Understand Precision Ag.
  • Technical aptitude in area of support – i.e. electrical, mechanical, agriculture, etc.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships that establish trust and create value.
  • Ability to learn product line, production capabilities, related markets as well as a diverse range of future opportunities.
  • Sharp professional presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate in clear and professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, team members and customers.
  • Capacity to be flexible and multitask.
  • International positions may require bi-lingual language skills.
  • Ability to apply design theory and methodology.
  • High level of customer service skills.
  • Well-developed problem analysis and problem solving techniques.
  • Proficiency with a computer, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Team player who is self-motivated, and has ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
  • Travel required.
