The Government Accountant II position will assist the assigned division to budget, analyze, and monitor costs to achieve operational and financial objectives.


  • Experience with and understanding of government contract types, payment, and invoicing terms and conditions to include fixed-price, time and materials, cost-plus, and other common contract types
  • Demonstrated experience working with the DCAA in pre and post award audit conditions such as accounting systems, proposal, labor floor checks, and incurred cost audits
  • Prepare supporting documentation for government contracts including but not limiting to contract funding and cost types per contract
  • Review project cost to separate allowable vs unallowable cost
  • Invoicing governmental contracts in accordance with contract terms
  • Work with project accountants and program managers on application of incurred costs
  • Assist project team with incurred cost submission
  • Participate in month-end close activities
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Maintaining Corporate Policies and Procedure around the compliance of accounting for government costing
  • Assist with compliance of any government related audits


• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 3+ years governmental accounting experience in a related position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work with confidential information and documentation with discretion.



  • Understanding of governmental contract accounting
  • Understanding of DCAA and FAR accounting
  • Understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
  • Proficiency with a computer, including Microsoft Office (specifically Excel). Ability to use query tools is preferred. Experience utilizing web-based applications is beneficial.
  • Ability to be flexible and multitask
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff
