SUMMARY

The Harness Design Engineer will interact extensively with our manufacturing engineering team to improve harness documentation. The individual will prepare and update manufacturing documents via change order. Collaborate with other design engineers on the design and routing of wire harnesses on agricultural equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design manufacturing documents in E3 Zuken CAD software (wire list, cable & wire harness assembly, enclosure schematics, and system interconnect diagram).
  • Create Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Perform or facilitate installation/testing related to the product or system.
  • Determine purpose, application, and feasibility of new or enhancement of existing products or processes.
  • Work with external customers, distributors, vendors, or suppliers to initiate new designs and solve problems.
  • Coordinate engineering efforts and provide engineering assistance to internal teams or external customers.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications.
  • May assist with quote or request for quote process.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree
  • Entry level or early career engineer with Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in engineering field – Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electronic parts, components, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Understanding of wiring, schematic, and interconnect diagram.
  • Experience with CAD software required.  Prior use of E3 Zuken, VeSys, or other wire harness design software preferred.
  • Ability to perform circuit analysis, read and comprehend electrical component specifications, and validate proper usage as per design requirements.
