SUMMARY
The Infrastructure Systems Engineer is responsible for all areas of Server and Storage infrastructure including design, configuration, implementation, and support. You will plan and prepare for disaster recovery, monitor server and storage capacity, and provide performance analysis. You will ensure a high level of uptime and performance to support EFD business needs.  Your responsibilities will also include Virual Machine daily operations including provisioning, operating system maintenance, and software implementation.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Document, design, configure, implement, and support all server and storage components including server hardware, storage hardware, backup solutions, and other related technologies.
  • Maintain a healthy environment by monitoring and evaluating system performance and issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency to mitigate and prevent future issues.
  • Monitor, diagnose and resolve system and storage issues in a timely manner.
  • Escalate problems to vendors and/or senior manager for resolution.
  • Contribute to strategic plans and reviews, prepare and complete action plans; design cost-effective solutions which follow industry best practices
  • Tightly integrate with key technology and functional partners and ensure that products are created in a platform-centric manner
  • Become an integral part of a culture focused on quality and service.
  • Ensure alignment between technology investments and business capability roadmaps
  • Ensure that the platform is metrics and performance driven
  • Ensure alignment with other key technology functions such as strategy programs, business analysis, quality assurance, engineering excellence, portfolio management, etc
  • Ensure architecture is upheld and consistent across all products.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors on new projects as defined by management.
  • Achieve infrastructure design and operational objectives by designing and engineering, evaluating, recommending, formulating, testing, and implementing plans for current and new technology
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and ensure it is updated and kept current
  • Provide support for incidents and end user requests for Infrastructure services.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology or related field of study and 4+ years of related experience.
  • Strong experience in server hardware including Cisco UCS products.
  • Independent and proficient working with Windows server operating systems and roles including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy, Print Services, WSUS.
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience with associated network solutions supporting connectivity to storage and system infrastructure.
  • Experience with compliance working with change control processes and adherence to standards
  • Experience and independent managing moderate to complex system and storage projects (planning, organizing and managing timelines / objectives)
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Accepts responsibility, holds himself/herself accountable for performance
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Team player throughout the organization
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
  • High level of integrity, sincerity and honesty
  • Occasional travel required
