About the Systems Administrator role:

Individuals in the Systems Admin job family are primarily responsible for general administration, maintenance and support of the Infrastructure Systems working closely with a liaison for both the Service Desk and Infrastructure Engineers. They will work advanced tickets with the Service Desk team. They will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on performance activities. They assist in implementation and maintenance of assigned systems solutions as directed by the Systems & Service Supervisor. They demonstrate a basic level of knowledge surrounding general networks and systems and display strong troubleshooting skills. Individuals are also versed in the use of diagnostic tools and software aids for the investigation of Infrastructure problems.


In addition, the Systems Administrator will work closely with IT team members to help develop and streamline processes. They will also assist with training end users and IT team members on proper use of the system. In addition, they will help maintain the application environment by performing database refreshes, updates, upgrades.


Essential Functions

• Assist engineering on a variety of tasks and projects, including installation and support of: software, equipment, servers, network infrastructure, storage devices, VoIP equipment, and other system components.

• Build and manage system access in accordance with segregation of duties, SOX compliancy, and key business stakeholders

• Perform backups of systems, files, and configurations.

• Meet with key stakeholders to gather business requirements to match with the system and other integrations

• Provide third party support and provide feedback/training to team

• Participate in department improvement activities

• Demonstrates the Dimensions of Competition and Raven Team Member Values in their daily actions

• Document key system functionality regarding server information and flow
• Support end users, including system troubleshooting and training.
• Provide third party support and provide feedback/training to team.
• Facilitate asset management, including maintenance contracts.
• Test and prepare software applications for installation.
• Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations on projects.
• Participate in department improvement activities.
• Demonstrates the Dimensions of Competition and Raven Team Member Values in their daily actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
• Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Team player who is self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision

• Critical thinking skills to help solve new, complex problems with the ability to prioritize tasks

• Responsiveness and sense of urgency

• Knowledge of Oracle databases, including key performance indicators, backups, automation, and best practices preferred

• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
• Specific skills, proficiencies, and knowledge in field related to position, as identified by department leadership. Networking – CCNA, CCNP, CCVP, Cisco technology skills preferred. Systems – VM Ware, SANS, Servers.
• Basic problem analysis and problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
• Travel may be necessary
