SUMMARY

Responsible for testing products and/ or systems in a lab, office, manufacturing, and/ or field environment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist engineering and coordinate with internal teams on a variety of products and processes, including engineering specifications, drawings, models, manuals, processes, or bill of materials.
  • Design, test, fabricate, maintain, and/or troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Write test plans, execute test procedures, and document results.
  • Work with various mechanical lab equipment to conduct shock, vibration, temperature, humidity, water immersion, splash spray, and particle impact testing
  • Work with various electrical lab equipment to conduct EMC, RF energy, electrical shorts, over-voltage, and product functional testing.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations on projects.
  • May be asked to interact with customers or vendors to install, monitor, troubleshoot, or repair equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Work with internal teams and external sources to obtain and communicate data relative to engineering requirements.
  • Participate or lead department improvement activities.
  • May be involved in bid processes.
     

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Degree in Precision Agriculture, Ag Systems Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Technology, Electronic Systems Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in a related position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Aptitude and interest in testing products to ensure quality.
  • Aptitude and interest in technology, agriculture, and ag equipment.
  • Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic systems experience is preferred.
  • Team player who is self-motivated and has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • A well-developed ability to critically analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members and leadership.
  • High level of service skills.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently.
  • Ability to read drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques is preferred.
  • Proficiency with a computer, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Specific skills, proficiencies, and knowledge in field related to position, as identified by department leadership.
  • Travel may be necessary, based on position.
  • US Citizenship may be required, based on position.
  • Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach. Required to lift/carry up to 20lbs. 
  • Exposure to a lab, office, manufacturing, and/or field environments. Position may occasionally require entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
