SUMMARY

Manage the activities of the quality control team to ensure to ensure product quality, reliability, and conformance for the division.

 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain close surveillance over quality control activities.
  • Provide direction on quality issues, and keep appropriate staff informed of issues or concerns.
  • Provide reports and analysis to monitor and measure effectiveness of quality management practices.
  • Serve as liaison between departments to assist with activities such as root cause analysis.
  • Monitor and initiate improvement projects to current processes or policies.
  • Coordinate efforts to ensure proper safety and ergonomics standards and guidelines are met in work area.
  • Delegate appropriate responsibilities and assignments to team members.
  • Assure staffing requirements are met.
  • Encourage team member growth and development.
  • Demonstrates the Dimensions of Competition and Raven Team Member Values in their daily actions and encourages their teams to do the same.
  • Administer annual team member performance reviews, goal setting, and participate in salary planning.
  • Maintain records on direct reports in relation to attendance and performance.
  • Depending on division, may be responsible to help manage the ISO 9001 system and conduct audits.
  • Assist in preparing and administering budgets.
  • Keeps informed of new developments, methods, and techniques in the quality profession.
  • Perform Quality Engineering functions, in addition to leadership.
  • Develop strategies and processes to maintain optimum quality control programs, methods, and techniques.
  • Provide leadership or direction on quality issues, and keep appropriate staff informed of issues or concerns.
  • Oversee supplier quality management function to assure supplier performance and conformance to industry specifications.
  • Overall responsibility to assure that ISO Quality Management System is maintained to standards.
  • Develop and execute budgets, short-term plans, and long-term plans, policies, procedures, and initiatives.

 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field.
  • Minimum 8 years related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality control practices and tools, ISO 9001, SPC, and Six Sigma.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Professional certification in the quality assurance profession is preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of manufacturing and quality control processes.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and empower team members to succeed.
  • High level of patience and service. Ability to motivate team members.
  • Problem-solving abilities. Ability to identify waste and creatively look for solutions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, decision-making, and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to be flexible and multitask.
  • Proficient with a computer, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
  • Travel as needed.
  • Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required. Refer to Raven Vehicle Operations Policy CS-13 for guidelines.
