Summary

The Saftety Engineer Intern will support the development and implementation of the Functional Safety Plan for electronic control systems, consistent with project and system architecture objectives; this includes, having a focus on international ISO normative standards, acting as a safety interface with suppliers, and supporting system engineers and software engineers to develop technical safety solutions for agricultural equipment.  The Safety Engineer Intern will be responsible for projects from the concept and design stage through to the production stage and make modifications of the product when necessary.  Position starts May, 2024.  

 

Essential Functions

  • Complete projects as assigned within internship discipline
  • Attend Raven University sponsored training and educational seminars
  • Engage and participate in Raven sponsored events
  • Support the definition and maintenance of the functional safety process.
  • Participate and lead in Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) for the systems integration.
  • Analyze component FMEAs from the suppliers.
  • Provide periodic updates to managers and peers on assigned project status
  • Work closely with assigned mentor to a successful completion of internship
  • Learn and apply engineering techniques, policies, and procedures
  • Proficient in Solidworks
  • Familiar with Document Controls methods/procedures

 

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Solidworks
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously without close supervision
  • Ability to work with high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to use a computer and software as defined necessary for the internship
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members
