Summary

As a Senior UI/UX Designer you develop user interfaces and user experiences for an exciting and innovative line of precision Agriculture products. The interfaces you will design and support are part of the Raven’s product ecosystem which includes web, mobile, and dedicated touchscreen products. You will support our product development process by creating, reviewing, and validating our user experiences and creating assets and imagery that provide a clear and modern interface for our users.

 

Essential Functions

  • Work as a member of the User Experience team and collaborate with multiple Engineering and Software teams designing the interfaces of their products.
  • Create and lead research related activities such as usability testing and customer interviews.
  • Participate in product requirements capture to ensure usability is designed into the product.
  • Design interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets to look good on all devices, scale factors and bit image depths.
  • Create consistent graphics and themes based on design and ergonomic principles that can be applied to existing and future products.
  • Communicate design ideas using storyboards, user flows and wireframes.
  • Maintain and develop consistent and intuitive visual product solutions and applications.
  • Engage with multiple teams and iterate through the development cycle.
  • Mentor and train less experienced UI/UX designers.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in User Experience, Graphic Design, or related technical field or equivalent amount of professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design and user experience. More experience desired.
  • Portfolio showcasing relevant work.
  • Well versed in the design and use of user stories, customer journey maps, and personas.
  • Experience designing and leading usability testing sessions with different users.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Balsamiq, InVision, Sketch, Figma and other graphic design software.
  • Strong typography, layout, and visual design skills.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile first and responsive design practices.
  • Experience developing interface-based applications using best practices.
  • Knowledge on UI deliverables: User flows, wireframes, lo-fi and hi-fi layouts, and prototypes.
  • Knowledge on accessibility standards and implementation.
  • Ability to prepare and present design concepts effectively to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Efficient time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Desire to learn about farming and be customer focused.
  • 8-bit images or pixel art related experience.
  • Experience in web and mobile app design.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
  • Experience working within an agile workspace.
  • Proficiency with collaborative tools like Jira or confluence.
